Artist Bio:
Yukie is an active live anime & vocaloid singer, performer, and lyricist based in Bay Area, California, also known as the "Bay Area Idol". She is one of the most innovative anime performers in US who brings trendiest otaku music to foreign audiences.
Yukiefs been a hardcore fan of anime, manga, and video games for over 15 years. Unlimited to anime/vocaloid live performance, Yukie is also actively?collaborating with composers and Djfs to create original songs and PVs. Her first original song gHanamai Tsukuyomi Tanh (Fantasia of Flower and Singing Moon) with HoskeyP was selected by SEGA as official song on Hatsune Miku Project DIVA Arcade 2nd and Project Diva Dreamy Theater 2nd on PS3; it is also the first song by non-Japanese creator on Project Diva. Soon Yukie will release her first single gAlice & Rabbith along with official CD for gHanamai Tsukuyomi Tanh.
In November 2011, Yukie decided to concentrate on her artist path, and left formal engineer position to pursue a path where her passion lies.?
Her unique performance style is combined with cosplay, dance, and live singing. Yukie has performed at many conventions and events over the past few years mostly in North America, and recently invited to hold her own concert in Europe.
She had performed many conventions including Anime Expo, Fanime, Ani-maid Cafe, Fanimaid Cafe, HyperCon, SF Japan Town Cherry Blossom Festival, Anime On Display, Anime Destiny, San Jose's Spirit of Japantown Festival, Genki Con, and has won numerous karaoke contests.
Based on the feedback and reviews, Yukie's song covers and performance style brought up many US anime fans' attention for the ever first time to Japanese otaku music fandom such as creative work on nicovideo.jp, and also brought up a new wave of anime / vocaloid song performers in US. Many of her fans said "It is your performance video influenced me to start doing anime song covers on youtube!"

More About Yukie:
Born in Beijing as a branch of royal family from Qing Dynasty, Yukie has been a big fan of Japanese anime and video games ever since five. She self-learned singing her first Japanese anime song when she was six though Japanese is not her native language.
After moving to US with her family, Yukie continue exploring various areas of anime / video game, its fandom as well as Japanese indie music for over 15 years. She took anime CG commissions and publishing collabaration artwork with CG artists in Japan and Taiwan during her high school years. Music created by Japanese indie artists was the muse of her artwork.
After graduating from UC Berkeley double major in chemical & material enigineering, Yukie kept working on anime music live shows and events aside from her engineer work, as well as collaboration with other artists and groups.

Childhood: Watch anime on TV, and started singing anime songs by memorizing pronunciation since six.
Early 10+: Video game music (RPGs on SNEC), especially Chrono Trigger, FF6, Seiken Densetsu3, Romancing Saga3. (only love instrumental music back then)
Late 10+: midi of RPG bgm, remix of game bgm. Found various Japanese indie musicians online such as Katakiri Rekka, Shimotsuki Haruka, Revo, Shikata Akiko and keeps following their works ever since.
Day of Fate: Heard a demo of Katakiri Rekka's "Yakusoku" online, and started recording anime songs at home, and going to karaoke contests.
Anime Expo 2007: Did her first cosplay performance "Koi no Mikuru Densetsu" at Haruhi Gathering.
Fanime 2008: Debut performance at Fanime masquerade opening: NicoNico Douga Medley. (3000+ audiences)
Started Anime live singing and related activities since then.
